The salt pools are worked by the local communities in a simple and artisanal process, as it was in the Inca times.

Just 20 minutes away from Inti Ñan Hotel you arrive to the famous Salineras de Maras (Maras Salt Ponds).

These white terraces, located in the middle of the mountains that surround the Sacred Valley, show one of the oldest practices of the region: salt extraction. From Inca times until today, the region of Maras has benefited from this important economic activity. The place also offers one of the most singular and unique landscapes of the Sacred Valley and it is a great destination for photography.

To get to the Salineras it is possible to go by car, in public transportation or walking for only 1 hour from the hotel.
