Typical example of the extraordinary urban planning of the Incas

Just 20 minutes away from Inti Ñan Hotel you get to Ollantaytambo, a magical town famous for its ruins and the beautiful streets and houses built over Inca ruins.

The Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo are between the largest and best preserved ruins in the region. Located at the end of the Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo was a strategic place during Inca times. This is why Ollantaytambo became an important administrative center and, later on, a key place to defend from the spanish invasion. Today it is one of the main touristic sights of the region, also because it is the main departure point to visit the ruins of Machu Picchu.

To get to Ollantaytambo it is possible to go by car, in public transportation or biking.
